Local Websites in a Nutshell

I’ve tried to keep these terms short and clear, but every paragraph is included for a very good reason. You are welcome here, and I’m pleased to answer any questions.

1. I’m delighted when anyone accesses the site.
2. I work hard to maintain the information on the site at the highest standard of accuracy I can.
3. I do not guarantee reliability of the content, and you should treat it at general information only. Specifically, if you rely on something and it is wrong, I will not be held responsible for any consequences or losses you suffer.
4. In general links to external websites are opened in new windows – links within this site are opened in the same window.
5. The comments policy for the site blog is brief: “Do not post stuff of which your mother would be ashamed. Notwithstanding that – extreme swearing and personal abuse of others are cause for editing or deletion at my discretion.”
6. I reserve the right to quote or republish comments made here in other forms or forums without limitation, but will always identify the source of the comment by quoting the url and name given by the commenter.
7. You are welcome to Quote Articles from this Site, within reason and within the law.
8. If I’ve made a mistake, or used an image for which you think I don’t have permission, or have not acknowledged, please let me know and I will make a correction.

Legalities

1. The collection of links and content on the site is being assembled with much blood, sweat, tears and hard work on my part from multiple sources, and is protected under copyright law as a database. It may not be substantially copied. I encourage you to link back, in keeping with the ethos of the internet.
2. Articles reproduced in their entirety, with or without acknowledgement, or material used as the substantive portion of an article on another website, are subject to a use fee. The minimum fee for one off use of an article or image is 250 ukp or $500. This fee is repeated annually unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing first before the article or image is used. Higher fees may be charged at our discretion.
3. I reserve the right to publish legal notices, emails, letters or any conversations recorded for the record concerning the operation or content of this website at our sole discretion unless there has been an explicit agreement in advance in writing to keep such communications confidential. If you wish to guarantee that such communications remain unpublished, you must contact the site in advance to request our agreement. You can do this by emailing mattwardman at gmail dot com.Any further correspondence related to an initial communication will be treated on the same terms as described in the previous paragraph, unless an explicit agreement to the contrary has been reached and confirmed in writing.
